PostSubject: Moonlit strolling (Anyone may join)   Mon Jul 16, 2012 10:32 pm

Pale silver moonlight fell over Grace park, it's weary an insidious glow bleaching the green out of the trees countless leaves. The sweet smell of flowers an grass filling the air along side the putrid rot of the smog-filled city boarding the park. A hum of soft cool wing blew gently threw the woods, passing the deeply cut warding runes carved into the tree trucks Surroundings the parks pound, meant to keep out demonic intruders who might wish to rack habit on the Sellie Court.
Alistair stepped silently threw the trees. Having abandoned the mundanes brick path to walk into the thick brush of the fare eastern end of the park. a small smile grew oh his face as he ran his hand along the smooth bark of a passing tree, the complex magic of the heavy ward carved into its bark venerating under his finger tips. he had been assigned the simple yet time consuming task of mending some holes or weak places in the protective ward. A job he thought would better suet a member of the fair folk who wasn't of noble decent. But either way he was happy to be given a useful task at all, it wasn't often that the queen called on him.
He always found it odd that demons of all creatures would want to harm the fair folk, they where after all half demon themselves. Like warlocks, Allen thought they ought to be praised for there demonic half’s, not slain for there angelic once like the Nephilim. But it was also very odd to find a demon who would dare threaten the court to begin with, most simply talked about there demise as they often did about other downworlders or shadowhunters. Demons where simply just cowards, Allen thought ,most anyway.
Hours passed as Allen mended the ward. his held up right palm glowing a deep silvery blue an fogy light. Faerie fire. a burning will-o'-the-wisp, it's humming violent like cry filling the chilled air as it slowly repairs the damaged barrier. Blazing In the faerie boys hand.

Brilynn walked quickly and quietly through the park, glancing over her shoulder every few minutes. She couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. A cold breeze blew at her, making her ears turn red at the tips. Throwing her hood over her head, she shoved her hands in her pockets and continued walking with her head slightly looking down the ground.

She had walked a couple of more yards before she heard them. The footsteps. Looking over her shoulder she saw the unmistakeable figure of a man hiding in the shadows of a tree.

Her pace quickening with the beat of her heart, Brilynn followed the path that lead up to the pond and dashed behind a bush - running straight into someone.

"Sorry!" she cried as she fumbled with the zipper on her pocket, trying to find her spear. Who puts zippers on pockets? When the zipper wouldn't budge, she looked up at the boy.

"You wouldn't happen to have any sort of weapon on you, would you? It'd help a lot." she glanced over her shoulder, just barely being able to see above the tops of the bush. Her eyes widened when she saw someone walk by and she grabbed the boy and pushed him to the ground.

"Be quiet," she warned him as she herself laid flat on the ground.

Alistair’s dimed eyes narrowed slightly as his otherworldly fairy ears picked up on the busheling shrubs behind him. He turned with an annoyed suspicion, A Mundane perhaps? He wondered. But it was infact not a mundane, but a Nephilim, a short Shadowhunter girl with curling whips of night black hair running towards him with a sort of panicked face.

He gasped faintly as he dropped his glowing hand, the silver/blue ball of light that once burned in it’s palm blinking out of existence with the lack of his concentration. What on earth was a shadowhunter doing here at this time of night? He couldn’t help but tens as she approached him, rambling about a weapon or something.

“what do you …” he was cut of bye another busheling of shrubs. Another shadowhunter maybe? But before he could vocalize his thoughts the girl tackled him, knocking the boy to the ground with an unexpected force, telling him to be silent.

He snarled and held up his forearm, trying to push the girl off of him. “w-what are do you… what’s going on?” he asked in a whisper, half of his concentration lingering on the form approaching from behind the trees, the other half lost in bewilderment.

Brilynn shook her head quietly and motioned for him to keep quiet as she successfully managed to get her zipper opened. Taking a long, thin tube of metal out of her pocket and squeezing it tight in her hands, she posed in a crouch, peeking over the tops.

The man was no where to be seen, but she knew he was still here. As long as she was, he was. Lowering herself down onto her knees, she whispered quietly.

"Do you know your way around this park?" she asked him. Something about him struck her as odd but she couldn't quite place her finger on it...

She opened her mouth to say something when a soft breeze blew her hair into her face. Brilynn froze. The wind was blowing right towards the demon who was stalking her.

Gripping the tube in her hands, she motioned for the boy to stay down as she raced out of the bush, muttering something under her breath. Instantly, the tube in her hand grew longer and wider, reaching out to a sharp point on both ends.

The man appeared from behind her, his body disguised by a long, hooded cloak. His arm wove it's way around her waist, but Brilynn was just small enough to slip out from his grasp, but when she tried, his grip became tighter. With a swift flick of his wrists, her hands were bound at her sides, her spear laying forgotten on the ground at her feet.

She gasped as something sharp stuck the side of her neck and she immediately felt the warm blood slipping down her neck Her head swam nauseously as her thoughts raced. She couldn't see what the man was doing, but she sure could feel it.

Another sharp pain stuck her neck and she felt her knees growing weaker and her eyelids become heavier. He was killing her! But why? With all the strength she could muster, Brilynn brought her leg up and shot it backwards, hitting the man in the shin.

His grip loosened only a little, but it was enough for her to slip onto the ground, pick up her spear, and send it straight up into the hood, hitting it's target.

She watched the man's body slump to the ground and begin to shrink in on itself. Seconds later, she fell, too, smacking her head hard on the ground. She groaned as her eyes closed.

Alistair gasped lightly, watching the girl reach for a weapon after telling him to be silent once a gene. Did she know he was a fairy? He had to admit, he didn’t look much like one. He was strangely very “human” in appearance, without wings or violet skin, and he didn’t even have sharp teeth. But she was still a Shadowhunter, and he could tell with just a single glance.

He smiled faintly as fairy’s did, a cruel crooked grin that could bewilder a mundane into submission. “Now what are…” his blue eyes narrowed at that moment as his sentence faded off into a slow exhale. “Demon…” he whispered, smelling the creatures rotting flesh in the cool night air.

Rising to his feet and ignoring her command to stay on the ground he slowly backed up agent a thick oak tree behind him, his eyes fixed on the darkness of the woods that soon formed into the siluet of a hooded demon. He watched with thin eyes as the creature pranced on the girl from behind, stabbing something into her neck.

He stepped forward in anxiety and protest, fighting the erg to speak. Why did he want to intervene?, he wondered, she was just a Shadowhunter after all… . But it was too late, she was very fast and with a kick, leap, and throw she plunged her metal spear into the demons head, sending it screeching back and disappearing in a collapsing bloody black bobbling mess. The shadowhunter girl dropped to the ground a moment later.

A good minute pasted as he looked down at the girl with eyes of complex confusion. He rubes his chin with his index finger and thumb in thought, watching the worm Nephilim blood slowly poor from the wound on her neck. He didn’t have to save her, he said to himself over and over, but she did look very young, and even compared to the cruelness of fairy’s a young death wasn’t pleasant. But it did also look rather suspicious, her injuries weren’t typical with a demon killing, she wasn’t ripped apart. If her counterparts where to find her in this mess they would most likely blame the fair folk, especially with her being so close to the pounds ward.
“ugh…” he mumbled with a sigh and reached down to scoop the girl up in his sleeved arms. Bringing her back and out of the thick woods, setting her down on a park bench then kneeling down beside her.
“You’ve been quit a burden you know… and at this time of night too”,he said with a grin, holding up his hand and placing it on her neck.
He muttered something then in an odd tong, it sounded very hard to pronouns and involved a lot of S’s, as if it where the slithering of a snake; but soon after the words his eyes began to bloom into a deep forest green color that grew into his whites until both of his eyes where consumed in the entirety of the deep color. He chuckled and lifted his hand. The wound on her neck hade stopped bleeding, and although it still remained visible the gash appears as if it had been healing for at least a few days.

He smiled, his eyes still fully green and otherworldly as he turned and leaned back agents the seat of the park bench, waiting for the girl to wake in silence.

Ashley left the New York Institute and headed for Grace Park. When the arrived, the sun had already set and the moon erupted from the water in the pond, casting a soft glow of silver light. She was hard to see, because she wore all black but in her leather jacket, her stele was hidden from sight as well as a saphra blade. She adjusted her belt which had a row of sharpened knives; some steel and others silver. Her sneakers didn't make any noise, thanks to some runes as she headed down to the water. She found a low-hanging willow and swung up the branches and reached the top. She looked around in the darkness for any moving shapes.
