PostSubject: Nia Rubashkin (Werewolf)   Wed Apr 17, 2013 12:14 am

Name: Nia Rubashkin

Gender: Female

Age: 19

Human Description: Nia has skin as pale as the moon’s light, with a fragility that wards off any touch. Small, surgical scars litter her forearms, as well as her chest and stomach. Her slender fingers taper off into sharp, curved nails. Her hair is a light auburn, naturally wavy, and falling in between her shoulder blades. Nia’s eyes are brown, with a flecks of green and gold. Her height measures in at 5’8, with a slight, fragile build that hides her supernatural strength.

Wolf Description: Dark auburn fur, with brown blended in. Her eyes are more of a striking gold in wolf form.

History: Nia’s early childhood history is relatively unclear. She only remembers blurry snippets of a shack, the only light coming from the main source of heat, a fire. A woman is usually present, smiling and warm, but no father or siblings ever appear. Her few memories from the beginning suggest a life of poverty, most likely in a country village on the outskirts of Eastern Europe. To her, these memories seem far too vague, telling anyone who asks that they probably never really happened.
To Nia, her story begins on the day she awoke, with stark, painful clarity at age ten on a cold examination table. Men and women in white coats and surgical masks surrounded her. A tray of shiny, metal objects to the right of her table caught her attention. She locked onto this sight, trying to will her mind to make the creepy people to go away. But, instead of making the people disappear, her mind clarified the sight before her, showing her exactly how sharp and lethal these foreign objects really were. And then she knew exactly what they were. She remembered the pain of blood vessels popping in her eyes as scream after scream ripped from her small body. The doctors rushed to pin down her whipping arms and legs with bands of tough fabric as strong as steel. She felt a sharp pinch in her arm, and then everything became so much more bearable. Nia remembered calmly looking up into the faces of two of the white-coated people. One was a man she would soon know as Dr. Kosnick, a cruel, mean-faced man with all the ambition in the world. The other was a woman, who would become the only light in her clinical hell. Dr. Rubashkin was a sweet lady, with eyes as blue as the sky Nia would sometimes glimpse from windows. She was the first one to speak, explaining to Nia that she was a very special, little girl. Nia had apparently been brought to them due to her unusual talent. Nia, even at the young age of ten, could see into the future. After performing many innocent tests, the doctors had decided she was the real deal. The man with the mean face jumped in at this point with a manic glint to his eyes. He told her that they were going to do many more tests on her, and that she must be a good girl or bad things would happen to her. Nia had no idea that no matter what she did, bad things were going to happen to her every day.
Throughout the seven years that Nia was imprisoned in the Bekhterev Research Institute, she was poked, prodded, slashed, shocked, bled, and starved in no special order. They told her she’d be helping many people across the world. Nia hung onto this, the only handhold she had, as her mind slowly slipped away from her.
Then came the day that she was to finally escape. The poking and prodding had stopped that day. She had no idea what she’d done to earn such a reward. As the tears of happiness slid down her face, she heard a small buzzing coming from outside her soundproofed-room. The more she focused, the more the buzzing clarified. Soon it became two voices. One was Dr. Kosnik. He seemed very agitated, almost yelling at the other doctor. Apparently, something had shown up in her MRI scans. Something impossible. Words like ‘lupine’ and ‘amazing strength’ stuck with her for that entire day, even after she’d been placed in the padded room where she slept. In the middle of the night, a great pain woke Nia from sleep. Her entire body felt like it was on fire. As her body changed impossibly in front of her, she let out a scream that soon morphed into a throaty roar. And then everything went black.
Nia had no idea how much time had passed when she woke up in a field of freezing snow, completely naked. Her body still radiated heat, leaving her immune to the cold tundra. She had no idea what she was going to do, or where she was going to go. Suddenly, the picture shows that would pop into her head from time to time as a child made a comeback. This time she saw a snow covered inn with a rickety sign. A man stood in the window, looking out. In that moment, she knew he was looking for her. Nia, against all odds, made it to that inn. The man welcomed her into his room at the inn, clothed her immediately, and made sure she had something to eat. He introduced himself as Carrow Adams, the leader of a pack of werewolves in Manhattan. He had been sent to find her as a favor to an old friend. Practically every word made little sense to Nia, but she took it all in with complete silence until Carrow asked her how she’d found his way to him. A giggle escaped her mouth, followed by another, until she was laughing loudly and shamelessly in his face.
“Don’t you know, sir? I’m special. I’m an oracle and I’m going to help people.”
Carrow Adams took her back to his pack and for the past year Nia has been settling into her first real home, surrounded by others of her kind. She assimilated well into the world of Downworlders, most likely due to her already addled mind. Many speculate that one of her werewolf parents must have had a little bit of warlock blood in them for Nia’s visions to be possible. She often thinks about the night of her escape from the Research Institute. Carrow filled her in on what had happened while she’d been in wolf form. She’d killed them. Every single one, even the nice Dr. Rubashkin. Apparently, she savaged Dr. Kosnik so badly that all that was left was an unrecognizable pile of meat. The image still makes her smile.

Personality: Nia is not completely insane, a fact that many of her own kind don’t know. Most of the pack stays clear of her, wondering why she was brought back if she was just going to mumble and whisper. But, what they don’t know is that Nia is lucid and practically sane a good bit of the time. She just likes to mess with her pack mates, drooling dramatically in front of them. Nia has a spunky, mischievous spirit, as well as a very deep mind. When angered or saddened, Nia slides back into her insanity, making these emotions extreme. She also has a good heart, truly striving to use her gift as a psychic and strength as a werewolf to good use.

Likes: Music of any kind, anime, learning more about the creatures around her, old movies, and pranking her pack mates

Dislikes: Visions of death, cars, being confined/tied down, feeling used, selfishness

Relationship Status; With who:

Other: Nia constantly wears a sliver, bracelet with the number 4 inscribed on it. She was made to wear it at the Research Institute. The number makes her wonder if there are more 'oracles' like her in the world.
